Is Genteel really painless?
Yes! When you use Genteel correctly, the lancet will puncture to the capillaries, but never the pain nerves.
Where on my body can I test?
Because of its vacuum technology, Genteel can draw blood from anywhere on the body. We recommend the palm of the hand.
Is alternate site testing as accurate as blood from my fingertips?
Fingertips and palms draw blood from the same capillaries, meaning the reading from these sites will be the closest and within meter accuracy.
All other body sites may have a delay in accurate blood sugar levels based on the activity (dietary or physical) of the person testing.
Will my insurance (or Medicaire) cover Genteel?
Unfortunately, no. We are not set up to process insurance or Medicaire claims. However, your coverage may have a reimbursement policy, so it is best to check with them. Genteel’s HCPCS (Billing Code) is A4258, which corresponds to a spring-loaded lancing device. Your insurance company will need this code to determine eligibility based on your policy.
Additionally, Genteel will qualify as a medical expense if you have a FSA/HSA benefit in your insurance policy.

What lancets can I use with Genteel?
When you purchase a Genteel device as a part of our Plus or Basic kits, the device will accept any universal lancet*. However, our Butterfly Touch lancets have a patented variable gauge tip designed to minimize pain so we always recommend these to go along with your purchase.
When you purchase the Genteel Exclusive, the device will only accept our Butterfly Touch lancets.
Do you ship internationally?

Is Genteel only for children?
Absolutely not. Genteel is used by people of all ages and for many different conditions. The most common are Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes.
